Our Story at Safari Guesthouse

Sandra spent 30 years at management level in the international hospitality industry. Working in 4- and 5-star establishments, she has a passion for quality, which means that each guest to Safari Guesthouse receives world-class service and amenities within an atmosphere of real South African hospitality. Peter was an international sales and marketing manager, and has extensive travelling experience. So, he knows what sets holiday and business-related accommodation apart.

We were both born in Switzerland, and we share a love for travel and meeting people from around the world.

We love Africa. Its landscapes, it beauty, its variety and its people are ours. We feel its rhythms like our very own heartbeats and we want to share this with travellers from around the world. Our adventures through Africa were integral to the theme and vibe of Safari Guesthouse.

We travelled through eight countries in Southern Africa in a Land Rover, equipped with a rooftop tent and all the amenities that we needed to live. We have had the pleasure of seeing the Victoria Falls, Dar Es Salaam, Zanzibar, Lake Natron, Serengeti, Lake Bunyonyi (Uganda), Rwanda, Zambia, Okavango Delta, Etosha National Park, Skeleton Coast, Fish River Canyon, and so many parts of beautiful South Africa.

During our time in South Africa, we spent three months as volunteers at Cotlands; an early childhood development organisation in Johannesburg. This project touched us deeply, and we saw first-hand how these little ones can thrive when given the right resources. We will continue to use our time and energy in uplifting local communities.

Thanks to our being based at Safari Guesthouse (accompanied by our two cats and one dog), we will be part of its day-to-day running and success. We look forward to welcoming each traveller, whether they are in South Africa on business or for the holiday of a lifetime, and we cannot wait to make your travel stories part of our ongoing adventure.
